View from the upstairs balcony - looking towards Surfers Paradise

We are a family of nine and we were looking for a house for a week in the Surfers Paradise area that would give us easy access to the Theme Parks etc.

We found "Allure on Capri" on Stayz.com which suited our needs with five bedrooms, three bathrooms, swimming pool, security parking.

Having three young children on board we found the security fencing on the property very comforting, the swimming pool was a good size and there was plenty of room for us to spread out.
The back yard space was not very useful because the block slopes steeply to the wharf area.

The Master Suite was amazing - such a huge space for just two people and included an enormous walk in wardrobe, an enormous bathroom, enormous bedroom and two huge balconies.

The downstairs bedrooms were good, especially the Queen Room with ensuite and walkin wardrobe.

The upstairs family bedroom was only just adequate for our young family of five. I would have liked to see some of the Master Suite space used for an ensuite plus playroom for the family.  They did manage very well but more floor space and an ensuite would have made it ideal.

The kitchen area was good except it was getting a little dog eared with use. The refrigerator was not working properly.

We enjoyed the swimming pool and lounge areas. The boys tried out the wharf fishing and appreciated the fishing gear supplied.

Overall we were very happy with the house.  It is getting a little old and maintenance was required while we were there. That aside, we would recommend this house as a good rental option for families.

We had a three day stop over at South West Rocks for some R&R after a busy week on the Gold Coast.

Our choice of accommodation was the Rockpool Motor Inn which is close to the Country Club and not all that far from the Town Centre. It was very suitable for us as there was secure parking, a good sized room with a kitchenette which was useful to us for a 3 day stopover. The Manager Megan was very friendly and helpful especially when we locked ourselves out of our room late at night. We would recommend this motel to other travellers.

The beach area is a lovely area to walk through with a variety of shops and a hotel right at the beach area. On our first day we had dinner at the Country Club which is 100 metre walk from the motel. The club was very welcoming and friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant which was reasonable cost and good quality.  The chef Shelia Siu introduced herself and when she found out we were celebrating an anniversary she insisted on us having a complimentary dessert. Good hospitality service.

We had a Bistro dinner at the Surf Club on our last night there and enjoyed the atmosphere and views of the surf club.

There is a lot more to South West Rocks than meets the eye when you first drive through. It is a very pretty place and we enjoyed our drives to see the old Gaol at Trial Bay, the lighthouse and Hat Head National Park, the river area which is also a very pretty area.

There is another camping ground at Trial Bay which is right on the beach.

We did not get much in the way of rain but the days were a bit cloudy so I did not get the beautiful blues of the sea or any sunset photos.

South West Rocks is so much quieter than Pt. Macquarie or Coffs Harbour - so if it is a laid back couple if days you want with no hustle or bustle - this is the place!
