Zion National Park was a beautiful place to visit even just for a few hours - it was worth the effort to get there. This was the last of the canyon visits before we carried on to Las Vegas.
It was totally different to any of the other canyons that we had visited and showed a different perspective. This time we were viewing the canyons from the bottom of the river upwards - rather from the top looking down.
We did not have a lot of time in Zion National Park so we had to choose which walks we would prefer as some were longer and harder than others. We chose to do the river walk and were able to follow the river bed right through until it came to a very narrow entry through the rocks. We were not prepared for the difficult walks and were restrained by time. I would have loved to have another day there to explore all the other lovely options of discovering natures wonders such as waterfalls.
It is a very pretty area and largely unspoilt by commercial development. We were bused from out hotel at the Best Western Zion Park Inn to the park centre which was basically a tourist hub where travellers would be put on mini buses and taken to the start of the bush walks and then back to the centre on a regular basis. The centre had a coffee/cafeteria, gift shop and rest rooms.
After our allocated time at the park we continued on our way to Las Vegas for our last day of the tour.
We were very fortunate with the weather. It got a little cool on the river walk and we needed jackets but it was sunny and nice for the rest of it.
This is a "must do" when touring the canyons.
