Mandalay Bay Resort - Las Vegas USA - September 2012

The Mandalay Bay Casino was our home away from home while we were in Las Vegas for five days.

It was a great choice of accommodation for us selected by our travel agent David Grant of Happy Holidays at Ettalong Beach.  It was a good choice because the rooms were very nice and comfortable and it had it's own beach (literally) made up of multiple pools including a wave pool - we could have been sitting in the middle of Hawaii.  It was well done and good to be able to chill out for a few hours when touring the strip got too much.  The weather was very hot and sunny so to be able to have a swim was definitely a bonus.
At the poolside there were food shops, retail shops and of course the poker machines were in every nook and cranny so nobody ever lost an opportunity to gamble.

The only down side, being right at the end of the strip, it was  a long way from the action in the middle of the strip which for us was not a really bad thing for us as we had some peace and quiet when we needed it.  The middle of the strip was chaos at any time of the day or night.  We were able to catch the tram down to various stops along the strip, but whichever way you chose to get around there was always a lot of walking involved.

We could walk to the Luxor Casino next door and there were walkways across the other side of the strip so we could go from one casino to another very easily.
We did a heap of walking while we were in Las Vegas as we wanted to see as much as possible during our stay.  There is plenty of free entertainment and some good shows to see so our five days in Las Vegas was very busy.
