We visited the Memorial for the Battle of Long Tan where 18 of our brave young soldiers lost their lives in a 3 hour battle with the Viet Cong. It was a very sobering moment for us when we had a minute's silence to remember them at the Memorial site. More so for me as one of the soldiers killed was from my home town of Moree. Of the 18 killed the oldest was 22 years old and the youngest 19 years old. - A very sad loss.
