Bathurst - October 2014

We had a very nostalgic tour of Bathurst staying over night there on our way home.  We stayed at the Big 4 Caravan Park which was very comfortable and at that time of the year - very quiet. We had a site virtually to ourselves with amenities close by. The cost was $35 per night for a powered site.

On our way in to Bathurst we drove around Mount Panorama Race Track which has got great views over Bathurst. Peter used to sell programs there as a schoolboy.

We also visited the Bathurst Golf Club where Peter played golf as a Junior. His father Frank was the Club Champion and also had a Hole in One there.(see the honor board photos)

We visited the Bathurst Showground where Peters father was the caretaker in his early years.  The old house is gone now but the flats in town are still there.

Bathurst is a lovely clean town and we enjoyed our stop over there.
