Bryce Canyon USA - September 2012

Bryce Canyon was an awesome place.  If you are into canyons then it is a "Must See".

We were impressed with how close we could get to the rock formations and appreciate the awesome natural beauty of the place from different points where we could view seeing a totally different aspect.  It was amazing how it can change from one point to another.

I was envious of all the tourists walking the trails which would have been fantastic.  We were only on a short visit as we were travelling from Lake Powell to Zion National Park in one day.  It would have been great to have been able to spend a whole day to explore.

The area was smaller and not as majestic as the Grand Canyon but I thought it was more picturesque because we were closer to the rock formations and in my mind they were more colourful and the shape of the rock formations were more interesting.

We viewed from Bryce Point, Sunrise Point, Sunset Point and Inspiration Point and as you can see by the photos the areas look different from each aspect.

This was a great experience and one that I will remember.

Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park USA - September 2012

Our journey from Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park was a very scenic trip through mountains, rock formations, desert areas and wooded areas.  It was picturesque and interesting especially the Switchback Road going into Zion National Park which is a man made road tunnelled through a mountain that snakes itself  up and down the mountainside turning on itself many times to enable the grades for the road.

To the Mormon Pioneers it was a haven of beauty resembling natural temples and cathedrals  and they called it "Little Zion".

We had a beautiful weather day which gave wonderful colour to the rock formations and the views down the switchback were breathtaking.
