Angelsea Golf Course, Angelsea, Victoria - October 2014

We played golf at Angelsea Golf Club prior to leaving for Apollo Bay.

We found the greens were treacherous.  The paths and vegetation reminded us of Cessnock or Muree Golf Courses. The cost for 18 holes plus a cart was $140.00.

The Kangaroos are very prevalent along with ducks and other bird life.  Apparently the kangaroos come out en mass at dusk which attracts tourists in the late afternoon.  The course is a mass of kangaroo droppings - sometimes hard to find a clean spot to stand so there must be a lot on the course.

We found the clubhouse comfortable with a nice view out over the 18th fairway.

The Great Ocean Road - Angelsea to Apollo Bay, Victoria - October 2014

This is a spectacular part of The Great Ocean Road.  It was rather winding road but there were stop off points along the way to get a better view of the scenic coast when you did not have to focus on the road.

Apollo Bay, Victoria - October 2014

We had a two night stay at Apollo Bay.

We stayed at the Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve which was walking distance from the town which was convenient. The cost was $52 for the two nights.  They had good facilities and were were able to get our laundry up to date while there. (Cost $6)

We had overcast and windy weather which was unfortunate as we had planned to play a game of golf there.  Instead we had a walk down through the town and over the road to the beach. We had lunch in town and then had a walk to the Golf Club which is just down the end of the town.

It was a good place for a rest up from travelling.
