Warranambool - October 2014

We had a good drive from Port Cambell to Warranambool before choosing to stay at Port Fairy for two nights.

We had a good drive through Warranambool and found it a large and busy place with a lot to look at.  We decided to check out the break wall which has a spectacular outlook over the ocean. I was very taken with the use of succulent plants that were all out in flower on the rocks seemingly growing naturally.  The pink/mauve colour on the rocks was very unique.

This is the end of the Great Ocean Road and the whole experience was definitely worth the effort to get here.  We were lucky and had nice sunny weather even if the winds were cool to cold - varying each day - but thankfully no wet weather.

The Great Ocean Road follows the rugged coastline and is exposed to the elements - so windy days are the norm.  I can understand why this drive is so popular - spectacular is the only way to describe it.
