Golf at Tallwoods Golf Club - Diamond Beach 2008

We enjoyed two days of golf at Tallwoods Golf Club over the period of our holidays at Diamond Beach. The course was really nice with some great holes and elevated tees. The three par over the water was a very challenging hole & we all had some fun hitting over the water onto the tee.
(photo attached of the ball on the green which was Ric's second attempt and the shot of the day).
I would love to play the course again sometime. There were not a lot of players there and it was nice to have a good relaxing day. The club has a good pro shop and a restaurant that serves nice lunches. The club closed at 6 o'clock being a non holiday period. On both the days we were there the ladies had a competition day & there would have been about 16 of them.

Days out at Diamond Beach - October 2008

We had some good day excusions and nights out while we were at Diamond Beach. we visited the shopping centre at Diamond Beach; the Black Head Bowling Club and Black Head Beach; the markets at Tuncurry; the shops and coffee shop at Forster; dinner out at a resort near the Diamond Beach Caravan Park; the markets at Pacific Palms near Forster on the Lakes Way; lunch at Pacific Palms Recreational Club next to the markets; drinks at Tallwoods Country Club; shopped at the pro shop at Tallwoods; played golf at Tallwoods; Tosca & Lyn shopped at Taree and went to the movies at Forster while we played golf at Tallwoods on day two.
There are quite a few options for eating out in the district & it is only a short drive to Forster or Taree.

Lyn and Ric's caravan - Diamond Beach 2008

Lyn and Ric have just bought another caravan for their site which looks great. They also put down new pavers which are fantastic & make such a difference to the comfort of the area & the roof over the top gives them a lot of protection from the weather. They have certainly made a lot of improvements to their home-away-from-home & will be able to have some good holidays here whenever they get the chance.

Fishermen at Diamond Beach - October 2008

The fishermen were up early every morning to try their luck with beach fishing. The first couple of days were windy which did not help & the previous days had been cold wet & windy which made the surf very rough. As the weather improved so did the fishing. They had some fun bringing in the salmon (not good eating fish - so they went back in) & they did catch some good eating fish later in the week.
