Adelaide Oval - August 2015
We unfortunately had a very cold, wet and windy day for our viewing of the Adelaide Oval.
We decided the best way to see the oval properly was by a guided tour which would take us through all of the areas of interest with the bonus of getting some inside knowledge from our guide which made it more interesting. You do not have to be a cricket or footie tragic to enjoy this tour and luckily for us a lot of it was undercover and we only had a few areas where we had to endure the rain and cold.
Allow plenty of time to do this tour as there is a lot to look at. Tragics will be dragged out kicking and screaming.
The areas we saw were inside the dressing rooms, the memorabilia and viewing rooms, the scoreboard and down on the grassroots level of the hallowed turf.
I enjoyed the tour and pity about the weather.

Another good experience at the Adelaide Oval is to have a guided Tour through the scoreboard which was fascinating.
It is hard to imagine how difficult it would have been for the score keepers who had to do everything manually in the good old days. Nowadays everything is done electronically.

An guided tour is the only was to see this area of the oval where the players have their team talks, massages and warm ups. You can almost smell the liniment and a guided tour is good as we were given some idea of how the players and coaches use this area.
