We spent the best part of two weeks in the Port Stephens area staying close to Nelson Bay at Halifax

Caravan Park between Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay.

Nelson Bay provided a multitude of restaurants, take aways, clubs, shopping centres including

an industrial area towards Taylors Beach that provided all the Bunnings, electrical and similar shopping centres. 

The Marina area is also a big attraction for all the seafood restaurants, shops and waterfront beauty.

We also visited the Golf Club that recently lost its clubhouse. It is centrally situated in Nelson Bay.

The area is much busier that the other centres but handy for convenient shopping.

We enjoyed our visit to the Marina where you can also catch a ferry to Hawks Nest.

We spent the best part of two weeks in the Port Stephens area and Shoal Bay is a very attractive part 
of that area. There is a huge long beach that is isolated from development by a main road. There is a small Shopping Centre that offers everything for holiday makers and there is a lot of accommodation including units and resorts.  There is a hotel as well so there is everything for visitors wanting to enjoy the area.  There is also a big camping ground opposite the beach which is convenient.  It is only a short distance from Nelson Bay for those people wanting more selection in shopping, restaurants etc.   We stayed at Halifax Camping area which is between Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay and sits on the far end of Shoal Bay Beach at the foot of the lighthouse.

Port Stephens area - Bob's Farm - December 2016

We had the best part of two weeks in the Port Stephens area and thanks to a couple of our friends we discovered the Cook-a-burra Restaurant and Function Centre and can be found ar 476C Marsh Road, Bob's Farm NSW 2316.

We had a very enjoyable barramundi luncheon at the restaurant which was in a nice setting which is a barramundi fish farm which also includes a Hydroponic garden.  They do cater for functions and in our case a bus load of tourists also called in for lunch so it is a very popular venue.

We were given some fish food to feed to the fish and they came from everywhere en mass to fight over the food.

Port Stephens area - Fingal Bay - November 2016

We spent the best part of two weeks in the Port Stephens area and Fingal Bay was one of the areas that we called in to see. 

Fingal Bay is an impressive holiday spot with a lovely beach and surf club. There were a lot of residential buildings as well as holiday lettings.

Fingal Bay can be found to the right of Salamander Bay and Shoal Bay.
