Melbourne Flower Show 2014 - around the grounds

Our primary reason for visiting Melbourne was to see the Melbourne Flower Show.  We were not disappointed.  We chose our first day to visit the show which was a beautiful sunny day. This was lucky because the weather closed in to a miserable rainy day the following day.

There were acres of grounds to explore full of exhibition landscaping, flowers, retail shops, gardens and ponds as well as a huge Exhibition Hall.  We arrived at opening time of 9.00am and walked around until about 2.00pm.  During that five hours we had time to give everything an overview.  If we wanted to see everything it would have been a full day - opening to closing times.  If we wanted to read every label and look at each of the winning exhibits it would take two days of structured viewing.

Our tickets were ordered on line at a cost of $19 (seniors) each which was good value.

There were plenty of lunch, coffee & toilet facilities around the grounds.  We chose to have our lunch at the edge of the ponds and watch the ducks swimming.

We had a lovely day and enjoyed everything that was on show.
