Hainan Island 2014 - MGM Grand Hotel - April 2014

We did have a grand time staying at the MGM Hotel at Yalong Bay.  It was a five star hotel and our rooms were very nice with plenty of space, large bathroom and large balcony overlooking the pool.

Like all 5 star hotels, the meals, alcohol and services were expensive but the amenities were beautiful.  The hotel had multiple restaurants as well as outside eating, multiple swimming pools and a private beach.

The hotel was in a very convenient place for what we wanted as we had a bus at our disposal so the hour out of the Sanya City was not a problem.

The only real problem we encounted was heavy security at the hotel when we first arrived because there was an international conference being held with important people present.  We had to be x-rayed every time we arrived and left the hotel for the first three days we were there and we had to catch a shuttle bus to the hotel as our private bus was not allowed in the area.  After that things were very quite with far less staff and security people around.

The hotel had free WiFi downstairs but unfortunately for me the Chinese Government have blocked all access to social media sites which include Facebook and Blogs so these photos and reports had to wait until I got home.  Better late than never.
