Beach front restaurants at Khaolak, Thailand - April 2016

On the beach restaurant at our "Beyond Resort Khaolak"

Looking from our private beach at the resort down towards the string of restaurants and massage tents that run right along the beachfront. I walked for a kilometre down the beach and did not run out of restaurants so there was plenty to choose from. When the tide comes in this part of the beach is covered in water so we needed to use the bridge crossing - see down further.

This was one of our favoured restaurants with a good selection of food and drinks at reasonable prices
Roughly divide by 4 to get the $A

Krua Thai restaurant just over the bridge along the beach

Sunset at the beach

End of another good night

The dreaded bridge we had to cross over at high tide to get back to our resort

High tide and no other choice but to swim

We suddenly realised why our resort supplied us with a torch (so we could get home safely)

O,H&S issues do not exist in Thailand

Another restaurant we tried but disappointingly had very poor service although the food was good, wine not so good. After our first initial order they simply forgot about us and left us sitting.
We left after waiting over an hour for a dessert order that was never coming, leaving a very poor tip.

Massage tents scattered between restaurants - very cheap compared to the resort prices.
I did not get to try so I am not sure of the quality of the massage.
Laundry services are also available at various places along the beach - again much cheaper than the resorts.

Beautiful stretch of beach - nice clean sand and no annoying hagglers.

Even more restaurants lining the beach front.

Flaming kites flying over the ocean from the beachfront

Meal no 2 at Krua Thai

Our beach front table at the Boom Boom restaurant

At the Pa-son Restaurant which is right next door to our resort
and we did not have to cross the bridge to get to it.

Maitai cocktail on special for $5, entree fresh cooked spring rolls

Tiger Prawns at their best

The beach restaurants are a highlight with plenty of choices including the resort itself which has a beautiful beachfront setting.

The restaurants down the beach were not so fancy but had great food and were a lot cheaper.  Some were better than others so you need to shop around. All of the food in Thailand is very fresh and an enormous selection is available and the service in the main is very quick.

We were very fortunate to get perfect weather, balmy evenings made to order for beach front dining.
