Our full day tour bus - we left about 8.00am in the morning and returned at 7.00pm

We flew from Adelaide to Alice Springs for our Red Centre experience.

We stayed at a nice resort at Alice Springs which also had the Casino attached.  There were a lot of motel like rooms that were interlinked with garden paths.  There was a swimming pool, a free laundry, several choices of restaurants including meals in the Casino which was only a short walk from our room. It was a convenient place to stay for the time that we were there.  We stayed for two nights which gave us time for a day tour to the local attractions.

We had dinner at the Casino on our first night an that proved to be not such a good experience as it was only a bistro type service and the staff on the night were not coping.  We had breakfast at the resort dining room.  The following night we had room service as we had a big day out on our day tour.

We did not have a lot of time in Alice Springs township other than a drive through on the bus but it looked like a small country town atmosphere.

The first day we arrived in the late afternoon and took time to get our laundry up to date with the free laundry facility which was very good. Our flight from Adelaide was uneventful and we landed at Alice Springs airport on time and were bused to our resort.

The second day we took a full day tour to see some of the highlights of the Alice Springs area.  It is a vast arid place with not a lot around.  We needed to travel hours between highlights and were well looked after with travel breaks and refreshments.

We visited Hermannsburg Historical Precinct, Palm Valley and the Cycad Gorge as well as various photo stops.  It was a huge day and we travelled a lot of kilometres which is needed in this huge country just to get to see just some of the Australian bush land.

We were up early the next morning for our big bus trip to Uluru for the next stage of our Red Centre experience.
