Golden Arches China - 27th October 2007

After our cultural shock of the airport hotel we decided that none of us could face a chinese dinner that night. We were heading for the New City Hotel after being collected by Tony late afternoon when we spotted a MacDonalds Restaurant on the other side of the highway. Our bus driver did one of his famous "U" turns in the middle of a four lane busy highway - no problem. A BIG bus rules the road in China.

Those of you who think that you will never eat at MacDonalds may be proven wrong if you have an extended stay in China. It suddenly became very attractive to all of us.

The chinese staff were very excited about our visit & were beside themselves when we said they could take some photos with my camera.

We settled well in the familiar New City Hotel where we would be staying until our flight home on Monday. The hotel pool was closed unfortunately & the massage room was only open at late evening. The rooms were clean & comfortable & that was more important.
