This was our last day in Veitnam. We had not scheduled a visit to the war zone of Vietnam in our original itinerary but as we all had an interest in visiting Nui Dat we decided to travel there before going to the airport to fly home to Sydney. Our flight did not leave until 9 pm so we did not need to be at the airport until 6.00pm.
We travelled to Nui Dat by our tour bus which took us to the Viet Cong Tunnels at Long Phuoc, the Australian forces base at Nui Dat, the school that the Australian Forces built in Nui Dat and the Memorial for the fallen soldiers at the Battle of Long Tan. It was well worth the bumpy road and we got a good view of the farm lands and small villages outside of Saigon City (Ho Chi Minh City).
