Hong Kong Lunch - 17th October 2007

We stopped at a carpark close to the Stanley Markets and walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Along the way we came accross a traffic snarl. One side of the road had been closed for maintenance, but no one had marked the one open lane as 'one way'. As a consequence there was a "stand off" of cars. The one open lane was filled with half the cars heading one way and the the other half going the opposite way. None of the cars were prepared to/or able to reverse back so they were just at a stand still. We would have loved to have had the time to watch how they resolved the problem. By the time we finished lunch it was all clear so we guessed they somehow worked it out.

We had some outside terrace tables for lunch which was good. The air was not so clean as there was smog around, but it was better than being crowded inside.

Entries in the journal for the lunch segment were: Richard left his backpack at the lunch table & had to go back for it; Kay thought she had lost her sunglasses, but found them later in her bag.
