Friday 12th September 2008 all of the 18 members of the tour from the Gosford Golf Club met at the Sydney International Hotel in Sydney to stay the night there prior to our departure early on Saturday morning. We had dinner at the St George Rowing Club which was walking distance from the hotel. It was a good start to the holiday.
We were due to fly out to Launceston by Virgin Blue as we all were carrying a set of golf clubs as well as our normal luggage. At this time Virgin Blue will allow the golf clubs as oversize luggage and it is weighed as 5 kilo's regardless of the real weight which left us with 15 kilos that we could take as normal luggage. That was a good deal. On our return trip we were told that this arrangment was going to change - so you would need to check each time of travel to see how the airlines will deal with oversize luggage.
