Byron Bay - The Beach January and February 2009

We arrived at Byron Beach on Saturday 24th January for a two week holiday staying at the First Sun Caravan Park Cabins right on the beach at Byron Bay. It was a lovely time of the year to be here as the school holidays were finishing and the beach was not crowded.

We did get some rain but it tended to come in short bursts then fine up to a lovely sunny day. We had some great days for the beach which was just a short stroll down a walkway from the caravan park. Our cabin overlooked the beach but was high enough up to have privacy from the beach traffic. The boys fished daily at the beach with not a lot of luck until they found the right holes to fish in.
The beach front has a good paved walking path and the shopping centre is just a short walk down the road with a good selection of restaurants.

To celebrate Australia Day George dutifully raised the Australian Flag at his caravan & the boys had Australia Day caps. We ate meat pies, mashy peas & Sausage Rolls with Tomato Sauce and of course Lamingtons.
