Korean War memorial, Washington USA - October 2012

The Korean War Memorial in Washington is an amazing tribute to the soldiers who fought at that time.  The life size statues in full battle uniform set in a thick ground cover is beautifully done. Along the path beside the garden is a huge granite wall with the images of all the soldiers very cleverly reflected in it.

Three weeks after we visited this memorial Hurricane Sandy caused a lot of damage and I understand there were only two of the soldiers left standing after the deluge of water and wind.
