On our last day in San Diego we decided to visit Balboa Park which is a huge park designed in a much smaller way to the Museums in Washington - with different types of museums scattered throughout the park. There was a free tram between all the different museums as walking would have been very tiring. There were only a couple of free museums and displays and some of the museums had expensive entry fees. What we did see was interesting but some of the museums we would have liked to have seen were closed on the day. There was not a lot to offer in the way of restaurants or other entertainment so we caught a cab to the waterfront to see what was to offer there. The Zoo was right next door to Balboa Park but that would have been an all day visit.
