From Cunnamulla to Cooper's Opal Mine Camp - August 2013

We travelled out to the Opal Mine from Cunnamulla in our own separate vehicles to spend a couple of nights there to check out the mine and to celebrate the Big 0 party family reunion which we have been looking foward to for so long.

The trip was 80 klms out of Cunnamulla.  Richard has done an amazing job of setting up the camp.  He has some very innovative ideas including the camp shower room (a converted water tank), a bush laundry, a garbage dump hole; a bush toilet, a bush kitchen/ BBQ area, cutting and polishing room, tool sheds, solar heating, additional acommodation for visitors as well as his own well set up converted caravan and large annex where he has an office with all the mod cons.  I was particularly impressed that I could wireless my iPad while I was there and connect to the internet with no problem.

We all had  a comfortable place to camp for the weekend and settled down to enjoy lunch and a drink together as we all arrived at much the same time.  After lunch Lyn took us girls to see some ancient aboriginal water holes that were not far from the camp.

Then it ws time for a shower and change for the Big 0 Party celebration.
