Bicheno - Tasmania

We stayed for the night at the Beachfront Motel at Bicheno which was a lovely place right on the beachfront. Our rooms looked out to the ocean & we were lucky enough to have beautiful sunshine for the rest of the day. We had a look at the blowhole from the bus on the way through.
(Image attached) We also thought that we could see some penguins on a rock out to sea (see image attached). After I had taken the photo one of the birds flew off - so we referred to them thereafter as the flying penguins. We also thought the shadows in the water could have been dolphins - they turned out to be seaweed.
We were at Bicheno prior to dusk when the fairy penguins come out of the sea & up the beach. It was such a cold wind that no-one felt inclined to walk down to have a look. The boys had already decided "s...ff" the penguins & had no intention of looking for them - which I thought was a little indelicate of them. We had soon forgotten all about the fairy penguins when we visited the pub which was walking distance from our rooms & we had a lovely meal there and we had a presentation for the last golf game with Chris & Rosie being among trophy winners (image attached).
Breakfast the next day was in a lovely breakfast room attached to the main building which had a great view of the beach (image attached). It was a good place for an overnight stay before going on to Hobart. Our rooms were comfortable (image attached) & clean.
