Wine tasting at local wineries - Hobart Tasmania

We had lunch at the Richmond Historical Village where we could wander around all the antique and bric-a-brac shops. After lunch on the way back to Hobart we stopped off at a couple of wineries for a bit of wine tasting.

The first one was the Pooley Winery. It was rather formal with a wine tasting room that was set up to cater for the tourist trade. We found it was a bit "here are your wines to taste - now take them or leave them" and be on your way if you are not going to buy any. We did buy a couple of bottles as the wines were not too bad if a little expensive.

The second one was the Puddleduck Winery. It was more laid back - farmhouse style. It was a new winery just starting out. It was lovely to sit in the sun & gaze accross the pond - a lovely peaceful place. The owner was very friendly and welcoming.

I bought a little puddleduck wine stopper as a souveneir - it was very cute.

We had a nice relaxing day and finished it off with dinner at the Hobart Casino that night.
