During our stay in Thailand we booked a day tour to take us high up into the mountains to see the countryside, temples, monkeys, jungles, rivers and elephant trekking.  We booked our tour at "beyond Resort Koahlak" tour desk.

This was the first part of the tour where we were able to feed the monkeys.  We were assured that the monkeys would not bite.  They are a small brown monkey, very cheeky when expecting to be fed. They were happy to sit on our shoulders and be fed food that was supplied by our guide.  When the food was gone the monkeys lost interest and retreated to the trees where they spend their days.

There were some religious shrines in the area that the monkeys were fed and also some temples that we were not allowed to visit.

This part of the tour was very enjoyable and we had some magnificent views of the mountain area.

Our tour continued on to River Canoeing and a Elephant trekking which are reported in additional posts following.
