The Cave Temple - Thailand - April 2016

Monkey in the car park outside the Cave Temple. These monkeys will bite so we were told to stay well away from them

The monkeys were seen moving randomly around the cave area - some of them were quite large

Inside the temple

Enormous statue where we were invited to light a candle in memory of loved ones.
We had to remove our shoes and light the candles up on the platform in front of the statue.

Shrines inside the temple

Exit out of this cave which leads to another huge cave

Monkey wandering randomly at the back of the main cave

Pathway to the second cave

Messages on the wall represent visits from the countries royalty over the years

Second cave

It is a shame that some people have no respect

Walking through the second cave

Steep pathways to the top of the second cave

Beautiful natural rock formations

Very impressive statue - upstairs was another shrine

This was a facinating insight into Buddhism. The cave has now been commercialised for tourists including gift shops.

This was part of our full day tour to James Bond Island which was booked through our "Beyond Resort Khoalak" Tour Desk
