Khaolak to Phang-nga, Thailand - April 2016

Map of Thailand.

This photo was taken at a neighbouring resort where we picked up the rest of our tour group

Photos taken along the way from our fast moving bus

We travelled south from Khaolak to Phang-Nga to pick up our long boat which was to take us out on the bay to see James Bond Island. We left our resort at 7.00 am and got home about 4.30pm.
On our return journey the tour included a nice lunch at a waterfront restaurant. Complimentary water and soft drinks were available on our bus.

The journey took us about one and a half hours travelling at an average 100 kms per hour, even though there were 80 and 60 kms signs they seem to be largely ignored by the majority of the traffic. The photos are fuzzy as we did not slow down enough to get a good photo.

The area reminded me of driving through Vietnam except there were not so many bikes. We did not travel as far as Phuket where I expect it would have been a lot more congested.

The shops and business premises were in hap Hazzard order and muddled in with farmland and shanty towns. Electricity and phone lines were draped in no distinct order somehow from building to building along the roads.

The background scenery was beautiful with towering mountains and farmland. We did get a good overview of the north end of the country.

We booked our tour through our "Beyond Resort Khaolak" Tour Desk.
