Musgrave, Queensland - Sunday 26th June 2011
Musgrave is a century old Telegraph Station - now a working cattle station. Our accommodation was motel-like rooms with no ensuite. Quite comfortable but no frills. There was a very good shower/toilet complex consisting of a group of private bathroom/toilet rooms in close proximity to our rooms. We ate at the attached restaurant/pub which provided all of our meals.
While we were having dinner there was a head on car accident on the road & our guide was called to assist one of the occupants that suffered some injuries. It is understandable how these accidents can happen on the dirt roads with a lot of dust thrown up by vehicles passing each other & careless driving.
The accommodation was quite acceptable considering the isolation of where we were. We had a good stop off there overnight before making our way to Weipa.
