I was not sure what to expect for our Journey Behind the Falls.  I imagined it would be a walk to a lower level beside the falls - however it was much more than that.  It is the only place that you can actually go behind the falls and explore the historic tunnels and the observation windows and decks where you can get as close as you can to the Horseshoe Falls.

We needed to take a lift down to a lower level where the tunnels would lead us through to the falls.
We were very close to the water and indeed got wet from the huge volume of water rushing past and the roar of the water was incredible.

This was an optional extra not included with the tour but well worth the effort as the perspective from behind the falls is sensational.  There was a lot of historical information to read as we wandered through the tunnels that lead to various viewpoints. It was all very interesting reading and told many tales of the ill fated that opted to ride over the falls in various ways.

The entry to the Journey Behind the Falls was within the Table Rock Complex of retail shops.
