Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington USA - October 2012

The Smithsonian National Air  Space Museum displays the largest collection of air and spacecraft in the world. We were there in excess of three hours and only touched the surface.  We would have loved to have had more time to poke around and look at more but we only had limited time and had a lot more museums to view.

The space display alone was fascinating and full of interesting facts and displays about space travel.  Most people would need two visits to cover it all and if you were a space and aircraft nutter a week would not be enough.

Other choices of museums in the Smithsonian collection are: American History Museum, Museum of the American Indian, Natural History Museum, Freer Gallery, Sackler Gallery, National Museum of African Art, The Holocaust Museum,  Hirshhorn Museum as well as the Smithsonian Castle Visitors Center.  The National Art Gallery, The Newseum, The International Spy Museum, The National Zoo are other choices.

One or two days in Washington are not enough.
