Smithsonian American History Museum, Washington - October 2012

The Smithsonian American History Museum is another Museum that I would have liked to have had more time in.  There is so much information and great exhibits that it is hard to absorb it all in one short visit.  We had visited at the end of our day as well when we were tired and had information overload from the other museums that we visited.

I enjoyed the First Ladies Political Roles and gowns as well as a lot of the displays such as Dorothy's Red Slippers and technology over the years.  We did not have time to view all of the exhibits unfortunately.

Allow plenty of time to meander through this museum as I know that we had to miss a lot of things. I did manage to catch a short video show on the First ladies which was interesting.  The Monticello exhibit on slavery was worth looking at.

We had a day and a half in Washington and still did not have time to view any of the other Museums that are all in close proximity.  The exhibits are huge and take hours to sift through if you are a history buff.  The quality and the content of the museums are excellent and well worth the time and effort.
