Vietnam - The Crazy House, Dalat - April 2013

One of our distractions from golf was a visit to the Crazy House in Dalat.  This was a very weird place where you could actually book accommodation if you wished.  The house was built (and is still being built) by a very wealthy woman who wanted to build something way out of the ordinary and she has certainly achieved that.  I cannot begin to calculate what it would have cost so far as the development goes on and on in all kinds of crazy patterns - something that you may see in Barcelona but worse.

The corridors and stairs go all over the place with no meaningful direction so we ambled our way around looking in all the rooms and gardens.  The rooms were very small not very comfortable looking.  I suppose the only reason you would stay there is to be able to say that you had spent a night there.  There was one room called the Kangaroo Room which had a large statue of a kangaroo with red night lights in it's eyes. The place would have spooked me out but I suppose it could appeal to some people.

It was an interesting experience and I am left wondering what it will look like if it is ever finished.
