Vietnam - On board our Paradise Cruise of Halong Bay - April 2013

We had a great time on board our Paradise Cruise Boat cruising around some of the 1600 islands of Halong Bay.

We were very impressed with the cruise boat as we had not known what to expect when we were told that we would be on a junk and only to bring a small overnight bag.  I was expecting something very small and cramped but in fact the cabins were very generous in size and had all the mod cons except for Internet.  The bottom two floors were cabin accommodation with a restaurant/bar on the third level.  On the top there was a viewing deck which was a great place to sit out and soak up the view.

The restaurant was better than basic with formal table settings and buffet style meals.

We had a great time and it was all too short.  We were lucky with the weather - lovely balmy nights where we could sit outside with a glass of wine and take in the views.  It was a shame that it was overcast for most of the time we were there as everything has a grey haze and the photos did not reflect the true beauty of the place.

We stopped off at various places and were taken ashore in tender boats and returned the same way.

This certainly one to put on your travel list.
