We were excited to be travelling to Halong Bay for our cruise experience. We travelled via our tour bus leaving Hanoi after breakfast to travel to Tuan Chau Island where we were to pick up our cruise ship.
On the way there we called into a warehouse that sold all kinds of things from marble statues to precious gems. We all got our hit at looking at beautiful (expensive - but very reasonable for what we pay in Australia for the same thing) gems including Vietnamese Rubies for which the country is famous for. We stayed there for an hour or so giving us time for morning tea before travelling on the Halong Bay.
