We arrived at Adelaide at 7.00am in the morning which was probably one of the down sides of the trip. We were woken at 6.00am with a cup of tea and a box containing an apple, orange juice and an assortment of muffins and fruit pastries which was to be our breakfast. It was mandatory to get off the train as it had to be shunted away to be cleaned. We were told that we could leave the railway but had to be back by 9.00 am which did not give us very much time to look around Adelaide.
We decided a ride in a taxi through the city would be the best way at that time of the day & then we went to Glenelg for a look at the beach area and had a hot breakfast there. What we did see was very nice and we made it back to the railway on time to continue our journey to Sydney.
