Joondalup Golf Resort was a pleasure to play on - probably one of our favourites on the tour. It is a very challenging Course especially the Quarry 9 holes that we played.
Joondalup Quarry/Dune Course was Australia's #1 Resort Golf Course in Golf Australia Magazine in 2005/2005 and 2003/2004. It is made up of 27 holes broken into three totally different looking courses. Quarry/Lakes /Dunes. It has a lovely clubhouse & pro shop.
We played the Lakes Course for the first 9 holes and after a 1/2 hour lunch break we played the Quarry Course for our second 9 holes. The stop was mandatory and the restaurant supplied us with a nice choice of lunches and drinks while we waited our turn to go onto the quarry course.
We didn't get to play the dunes course which will give us a good excuse to go back.

The Lakes Course had plenty of water holes but was very enjoyable to play, the Quarry Course was more difficult as the quarry hazards come into play with a great par three and brilliant par 5 around the limestone quarry which has 30 metre cliff face. If any of our balls went down there they stayed there. It was a very challenging course that requires some good golf skills to master. My highlight was making it over the quarry face on the par 3 with my drive stopping just short of the quarry face. (photo attached)
We had a great day at Joondalup and I would recommend it as a "Must Play" when you are in Perth.
