Cook SA - April 2011

Cook SA was our first stop after Kalgoorlie WA passing through the Nullarbor Plains.

Cook is now a ghost town with only four residents left. The railway are building some accommodation for their workers so they can take rest breaks from their lengthy shifts.

Just about all of the other buildings were empty.

Their was a nice little gift shop there with all kinds of gift ideas and a dire warning sign to anyone caught stealing. I think most people would have taken that warning sign seriously.
I bought a carryall bag that said "I have crossed the Nullarbor" - another box ticked on my bucket list.
