Broken Hill NSW was another downside of the Indian Pacific journey in as much as the train was running two hours late and did not get into Broken Hill until 6 o'clock at night. That was a disappointment to us because Mark's cousin (who lives in Broken Hill) had arranged to meet us at the railway and take us for a tour of Broken Hill that we were really looking forward to.
We were not allowed to leave the railway station so that was all that we saw of Broken Hill unfortunately as the train had to try and keep to schedule.
